中心簡介
為確切落實東部地區優生保健之實行，提供民眾遺傳疾病的診斷、治療及諮詢服務，衛生署於民國八十一年十月指定本院成立優生保健諮詢中心(自民國九十一年起改稱為遺傳諮詢中心)，希望透過優生保健諮詢中心的設立增加病患對遺傳疾病的篩檢與治療的認識。
花蓮慈濟醫學中心為花東地區唯一可接受遺傳疾病與罕見疾病診斷照顧與遺傳諮詢，並接受轉診病患的醫療院所。以提升東部地區之遺傳諮詢服務為宗旨，守護生命、守護健康、守護愛為任務，致力於提升專業技能與整合服務，提供以病人為中心之全人照護品質。以及照顧弱勢族群，推動健康促進，善盡社會責任的服務目標。本中心結合各領域專家，並按時接受衛生署認證，期能提供病患及其家屬所需要的相關醫療諮詢及治療，很榮幸目前在每次評鑑中均得到極高的評價，同時也頗受到病患及家屬的好評。
To implement genetics-based health care in the eastern region of Taiwan and offer diagnosis, treatment, and consultation services for genetic diseases, the Department of Health designated Hualien Tzu Chi Medical Center as a site at which to establish a genetics health care consultation center in October 2001. One of the objectives of establishing this genetic counseling center(GCC) was to increase patient awareness of the screening and treatment of genetic diseases.
Our hospital is the only medical institution in Easterm Taiwan that provides diagnosis and care of rare and genetic diseases and genetic counseling and accepts referral patients. To improve genetic counseling services in the eastern region, protect life, and promote health and love, we are committed to improving professional skills and integrating services to provide patient-centered holistic care while considering the care of disadvantaged groups, promoting health, and fulfilling social responsibilities. The center includes experts from various fields and is certified by the Department of Health. GCC provides precisional medical consultation and treatment required by patients and their families. GCC has been well received by both health care system, patients and their families.
